Literature Text

A relatively warm room it was,
A hospital room.
I came for a visit
I was incredibly tired,
Sleep deprived,
But it mattered not.

I stood from my seat.

My body warmed up incredibly,
I felt like I was being burned alive
I lost my sense of touch.
My eyes became quite heavy,
I felt like I was disconnected from this world
I lost my vision.
My limbs faltered,
I felt like I was carrying a heavy burden
I lost control.

I lost my senses.

I began falling…I saw the ground
Blank
I saw the ceiling
Five minutes later.

A lapse in memory.
Have I experienced death?
Strange it was.
Recollection I have none.
Pain I felt none.

My senses returned.
Strangely I felt my face burning…

I was bleeding.

I heard a scream
A shrill cry
Sending shivers to every corner of my body
A recurring screech
Inexorable.
Window panes cracked,
The ceiling fractured,
The air fizzled.

I was
The visitor
Yet
I became
The patient.

To think I ended
Up causing more pain
When I tried to comfort

Such is life.
Even the best of intentions can
Hurt
When you
Least expect it.

Think you are doing good?
Think again.
And it might not be too
Late.
A personal experience.
